'Loch Linnhe from Onich' detail

I am asked often enough how I made something, how I arrived at an image and how did I print it that I realized  that people really DO

want to know. I would like the work to speak for itself, but knowing something of what prompts me and what processes I use can help people to an  understanding of creative work.  If the work appeals to them, they want, somehow, to get deeper inside it.  I hope that I can pass on some insights that might enrich your appreciation of my images. Be aware, however, that words are a poor means for describing visual processes.

An explanation in four pages:

FIRST:
What am I trying to do? What prompted the activity?

SECOND:
How do I, in practical terms, make the images?

THIRD:
Reflections on my use of the computer

FOURTH:
How did I translate the images into repeatable prints?
