How to order your frame:

  1. Order the print on the website and pay using PayPal.
  2. At the same time, email me that you want it framed info@timothyduffield.com.
  3. I will respond as soon as possible with the shipping cost and an estimation of when you will receive it.
  4. When the frame is finished I will send you a PayPal email invoice. You will pay for the frame and shipping and I will ship forthwith.

I do not maintain large stocks of already framed prints, neither do I maintain stocks of framing material. If you wish me to frame your print I first must order the materials, make the frame and then ship it to you. Ordering and receiving the materials takes about 4 or 5 days, making the frame another couple of days. I prefer 2 day shipping by UPS (which is not grossly expensive but the shipment is not in transit and at risk for too long a time.) You should expect, therefore, anything up to 3 weeks between the date of ordering and the receipt of the framed print. If you were to order the print alone, you would receive it in 3 or 4 days. You may choose faster shipping if you prefer, but the other variables cannot change very much.

I am a one-man-band. If I am away, for example on a photography expedition, I may get notification of a sale, but might not be able to do anything about it until I return. On receipt of an order I will email you with an estimated timetable.

I am in the business of selling prints, not selling frames. The advantage to you is that my framing is very reasonably priced. I add a very small markup to the material costs to cover some of my time in the making of the frame. You will find that my fame prices are quite a bit less than you would be charged at a frame store. In addition, you are assured that the framing is done archivally and that the print will last for over 100 years without fading.

The disadvantage for you is that I offer no choice in the frames. As Henry Ford said: “You can choose whatever color you want, so long as it is charcoal grey.” The picture below shows what the framed print will look like. The framing is clean and simple, ideal for exhibitions, as below. The focus is on the print, not on the frame. The print will be window matted with archival white board, backed by archival foamcore. The frame will be a Nielsen metal frame in charcoal grey. The glazing will be acrylic with UV filtering.

The prints in the Four Corners section, and several in the SouthWest section, have recently been on show at an exhibition at the Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum in Blanding, Utah. Thirty-four images were displayed from August 2011 to January, 2012.
